What is a Diamond Certificate?

A diamond certificate, commonly referred to as a diamond grading report, is an authoritative document issued by an independent gemological laboratory. It serves to evaluate the characteristics and quality of a diamond. The primary objective of a diamond certificate is to provide a comprehensive assessment of the diamond's essential attributes, including its cut, color, clarity, and carat weight.

What sort of certificate does a diamond have?

Every diamond tells a story of brilliance and ethics. Our lab grown diamonds are meticulously crafted and independently certified by either the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the International Gemological Institute (IGI), ensuring the highest quality standards.  These certificates guarantee the "4Cs" (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat) of your diamond, giving you peace of mind and lasting value.

How to Analyze a Diamond Certificate?

Check the serial number and cross-check it on the website to ensure authenticity.

For IGI round diamonds, be sure to check the hearts and arrows or our finest Pure Sparks collection for quality verification. For GIA round diamonds, refer to AGS certificate for a legitimate confirmation.

When checking the print date, make sure it is no more than about 2 years old to ensure the diamond is not second-hand. Lastly, for the certifying institution, ensure that it is either GIA or IGI, and not any other organization.

GIA (Gemological Institute of America)

Similarly, a GIA certificate for lab-grown diamonds offers a thorough evaluation of the diamond's attributes based on their rigorous standards. It provides detailed information about the diamond's 4Cs and other relevant characteristics, ensuring transparency and confidence in the diamond's quality and value.

GIA is known for having stricter grading standards overall. GIA is the number one laboratory which grades natural diamonds, and now they grade lab-grown diamonds as well.

IGI (International Gemological Institute)

An IGI certificate for lab-grown diamonds provides an official assessment of the diamond's characteristics and quality, including its 4Cs (cut, color, clarity, and carat weight), fluorescence, and symmetry. It serves as a reliable document verifying the authenticity and quality of the lab-grown diamond.
